Sailing
I sail as skipper and hold the Austrian ÖSV FB3 licence. The Baltic, Greece and Turkey, Italy, Sardinia and the Balearics, the Seychelles and Thailand. Navigation, weather, seamanship and a crew that works as one.
Long passages. Quiet craft.
Sailing is seamanship. Reading the weather, keeping the boat in good order, planning the route and adjusting it. Decisions at sea rest on incomplete information, and the sea tests every one of them. The same question runs through my research.
From the Baltic to the Andaman Sea.
The Baltic, Greece and Turkey, Italy, Sardinia and Corsica, the Balearics, the Seychelles and Thailand. The Caribbean is next.
Where the boat has been.
A selection of past tours. Each one with its own waters, weather and crew. Every tour sailed as skipper.
What the sea demands.
Three parts of the craft. Each one is also a question of deciding under uncertainty.
Navigation · crew · weather.
A note is enough.
